Greenwood email accounts can be accessed from mobile devices in one of two ways. Instructions for both of these options are laid out below. 

Accessing School Email Through the Gmail App

Note: During the above installation process, both Android and iOS, will install a Google Device Policy app on your device. This is required so your personal information stays private (we do not see private apps or information on your device and to ensure the school’s Gmail is protected from any unauthorized or malicious third-party apps. In short, your device remains yours and the information on it stays private.


  • For Android 

    • Open Play Store Play Store.

    • Install Gmail 

    • Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the app

    • Open the app 

    • Follow the instructions to add your Greenwood account (school’s Email and Password) to your device

      • You will be required to install and accept the Google Device Policyapp

      • Your Google Workspace account is the account that you use for work or school.

      • IMPORTANT: Leave the box unchecked when ask “I don’t want a work profile”

    • Follow the on-screen steps until setup is complete.

  • For iOS: 

    • On your iOS device, open the App Store

    • Install Gmail .

    • Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the app.

    • You might need to enter your Apple ID and password.

    • Open the app.

    • Tap Sign in > Google > Continue.

    • Sign in using your Greenwood account (school’s Email and Password).

      • You will be required to install and accept the Google Device Policyapp

      • Your Google Workspace account is the account that you use for work or school.

      • IMPORTANT: Leave the box unchecked when ask “I don’t want a work profile”

    • If you want to receive notifications from Gmail, tap Allow.

Accessing School Email on a Mobile Browser

An alternative is to access the school's email from a mobile browser such as Firefox or Safari.  This avoids adding a policy on your device. However, you must use a mobile browser other than Chrome. Because Chrome is a Google app, it will place a policy on your device to separate school data from your personal data (so we do not see it).


To access your school email on a mobile browser:


  1. Open a mobile browser such as Safari or Firefox (not Chrome)

  2. Go to https://mail.google.com/a/greenwoodcollege.com

  3. Enter your username and password.
