What is Google Jamboard?
Google Jamboard is an interactive and collaborative whiteboard application available in Google Drive. You can create multiple whiteboard panels in a single Jamboard. Insert images, notes, draw, highlight, and more in your Jamboard.
Jamboard is also compatible with touch surfaces (e.g. SMART Board, pen & drawing tablet, laptops with touch screen).
Access & Create a new Jamboard
In Google Drive, click New → More → Jamboard
Adjust drawing tools
Click on pen icon in left-hand side menu. Choose between pen, marker, highlighter, and brush.
TIP: Hold shift to create straight lines.
Eraser tool
The eraser tool will only erase pen strokes, leaving images and notes intact.
Sticky notes
Create a sticky note by clicking the note icon in the menu. Enter your text and select a note colour. To scale your note click and drag from a corner. To rotate your note click the curved arrow in the top-left corner. To edit or duplicate your note, click on the three dot menu.
Adding images
To add an image to your Jamboard you can simply copy and paste in image, drag an image file from your computer, or click the image icon in the menu to upload, search Google, or select an image from your Google Drive. To scale your image click and drag from a corner. To rotate your image click the curved arrow in the top-left corner. To delete or duplicate an image, click on the three dot menu.
Laser Pointer
The laser pointer tool is a way to temporarily draw or annotate on your Jamboard. Your drawing strokes will be displayed for a short period of time before fading out.
Changing the background
Near the top of your Jamboard, click Background and select none, dots, ruled lines, squares, graph, blue, or chalkboard.
Clear entire frame
To clear the entire Jamboard, simply click on Clear Frame in the top menu.
Managing Frames
Your Jamboard can contain multiple frames (i.e. multiple boards), allowing you to house different content on each frame. To access or add frames, scroll to the top of your screen and click on the Expand Frames button. Or, simply click forward or backward. If you only have one frame created, clicking next (right) will automatically create an additional blank frame, or in the expanded frame view you can click the blue + button to add a blank frame. To duplicate or delete a frame, click the three dot menu.
Exporting
You can export your Jamboard as a PDF or an image file (PNG). Click the three dot menu in the top right of your screen and select Download as PDF or Save frame as image.
